Question:

Who can join the HMDR Division?

Answer:

Anyone interested in hazard mitigation and disaster recovery planning may join the Division. You can join as an APA member or a non-member. Division members who are not paid APA members may not vote in Division matters.

Question:

How does the HMDR Division communicate with members?

Answer:

We use our Division newsletter and e-blasts to communicate with members. We use MailChimp to manage our communications and we update the email distribution list after receiving the monthly roster from APA. Members that recently joined, renewed, or changed email addresses should expect receiving emails in the second month after membership begins.

Question:

Why am I not receiving emails from the Division?

Answer:

1.     Make sure you are checking the address registered with APA. After we receive the monthly membership roster from APA, we update our MailChimp distribution list with the latest emails on the roster. If you prefer we send communications to a different email address, email apa.hmdr@gmail.com.

2.     Check that the email is not in your spam folder and that MailChimp emails have not been blocked or unsubscribed. This may require going into your email settings and making sure emails are not blocked from apa.hmdr@gmail.com or that you have not selected to opt-out of emails from the MailChimp service.

3.     If you are still unable to receive emails from us, send us an email at apa.hmdr@gmail.com and we’ll try to help. Thank you for your patience!

Answer:

There is an “unsubscribe” option at the bottom of our newsletters and e-blasts.

How long does the membership last?

Answer:

Membership lasts for one year from the date you joined.
